A thought/ Una cita (VII)

This is a thought that a very dear friend of mine sent me the other day in an email. And since I read it that it has been turning round and round in my head. I have been giving it a lot of thought since I first set eyes on it... and we all know that when I start thinking too much, usually nothing good will come out of it, right?
I have already written before about how when I think too much I start doubting everything in my life: what was said or done, where I stand, who are those near me, why I am important to them, why I care for them... and an endless list of ifs, and whys, and wheres and whens and what ifs...
But this thought in particular has made me analyze what type of life I am leading. Do I really love the life that I live? Well, I am sure that there are a few things I would certainly like to change: I would like to learn that whatever I say, if I believe in it and truly feel it, is justified and I must not be afraid of what others might think about it; there are some people I would absolutely like to have in my life for good, if only they would dare to take the chance instead of saying how much they love me and how much they fear they might hurt me if we were together today and as a result lose me.
I love my daughters, I love my job and everything it represents in my life (though I would also love it if I could just work from home, at my own pace, managing my own time), I love my friends, I love you (my Mr. Perfect even if you are not in my life today), I love playing hockey...
I will not explain all the doubts that so much thinking has brought up... they always seem to be the same, based on my insecurity and lack of self-esteem... so that I must forget about them, and grow up!
But I DO know that I will not let my life slip through my fingers... I will live it to its fullest, and love it and be proud of everything I have ever done with and in it! Because I love my life and also live it the way I love! (or almost!)
Thank you Donnie!!!!! You certainly are a great friend to me!

Thank you Dear Jeannie! :)

I'm so pleased that this special phrase affected you as much as it also affected me when I first discovered it!
Just a simple and short sentence but oh how powerful it is! and how it gets you thinking about your life and it's direction eh?!
I think it's wonderful as phrases like this can give us a "reality check" a "kick up the arse" and make us realise that our lives need to be lived to the very fullest and to fulfill every single dream and ambition! even if we are scared of doing so sometimes, because if we never try we would never know...
and life is simply much too short for worrying about that!
From now on I am just going to do everything I have ever wanted to do and not worry about whether it's the right thing to do or not!

Muchos Besos my dear friend! I'm honoured to see my name in your blog post! :)

Donnie, you are so welcome!!! It certainly affected me, and made me think that I am so right at being patient and waiting, and hoping and wishing... but I have also realized that in the meantime I must keep mocing towards my aims, right? I am not sure if it is a question os doing anything and everything we want even if it is right or not. I believe it has more to do with doing what WE feel is right, as long as it does not harm others. Love you lots, my sweet friend! =)

P.S:
Dearest Jeannie, on reading your post again I realise that I too am very critical of myself and my actions and analyze myself too much as well.
I am going to try to stop doing this and let life "go with the flow" more, as I know that being too critical of ourselves and too much self-analyzing makes us live life a little bit less each time, and that is not a good thing eh?!

"Love the life you live and live the life you love"

Muchos Besos my dear friend!

Jean dijo...

Donnie, so we should stop with this destructive attitude right away, as it is ok when we use it to improve, but something very different when it only fills us with doubts, right?
Muchos besos!
