Ten years...?/ Diez años...?

Has it been that long since I have had a few days to myself? I cannot believe it... time does fly!
The last time I could decide freely what to do during a whole weekend, whether it was staying in bed, going out, sleeping, eating or not and at whatever time I felt like it, or just letting the hours tick away doing nothing, was way before my eldest daughter was born. And that was ten years ago!!!
This weekend I have been blessed. The girls have been invited by their father, whom they see seldomly (imagine.. he lives soooo far away from home!!! Some 160 km from here! HA). He picked them up yesterday evening and won't be bringing them back till early Monday morning!! It is amazing!
What have I done till now? I have slept, read, watched some Dvd's, slept some more, written a little more of my novel, come up with some new material I would like to write on (see the post "Feeling inspired"), listened to music all day long... it's been paradise!
I think I will be having to make some sort of arrangement as this one with the girls' dad... maybe twice a month, every other weekend would not be a bad idea, right?
The girls need it and so do I.
I am feeling strong, and will bring up this issue and ask for what is my right.

Hi Dearest Jeannie!
Yes you must DEMAND that he do this... it is your right to have some time to yourself and his duty to have his girls stay with him at least twice a month!
Go for it my dear friend and get some more weekends to yourself to do whatever you want!
Muchos Besos!

Jean dijo...

Thank you Donnie!!! I will surely do that! It is high time that I start asking, or demanding as you out it, what is my right, right? Big kiss, my dear friend!!!

Besos!

Hi Jeannie!
Maria Andrea is so right! it is a Father's obligation to have his children at weekends, or at least every other weekend!
My dear friend, don't let people walk over you anymore! tell this man that he MUST do his part, and take responsibility, as it took 2 of you to create your girls!!
You have spent your whole life worrying about and caring for others and you have neglected yourself... when he brings them home have a good talk about what he needs to do! don't be afraid to express your rights!
Muchos Besos my Dear Friend!! :)

Jean dijo...

Dearest Donnie! You never once fail to be by my side and give me good advice! I will certainly talk to the girls' father when he brings them tomorrow. And ask for what is my right!
Thank you for being so caring... I know that this comment is as much for him as for all the other people in my life!! Love you dearly, my friend! Hugs!!

Besos!

The first stuff that came to my mind when u talked about it was this issue on time. The troubles concerning this are mostly on job. We spend our lives having job as priority and forgetting the very important that is ourselves

kisses.
It's always a pleasure reading ur blog dear friend!

Jean dijo...

No, Carlita, no sos reiterativa.

William, It is a pleasure to see you enjoy my blog and my writings! And actually, it is not a question of lack of time due to work... it is a question of upbringing and wanting! Hugs, my friend!

Well done Jeannie!
Be brave and get all the things ready in your mind to say to him when he arrives tomorrow...
you must do this as you also deserve some "me time" (that what he must have a lot of)
so don't back out and decide not to say anything, it is your right my dear friend! and it is his duty to have the girls at least once a fortnight.
I want to receive a message from you on Monday telling me that you have done all this! So Good Luck! :)
Muchos Besos!!

Jean dijo...

Thank you, Dearest Donnie! I also hope I wll be able to send you that message some time today. For the time being, I am still waiting for them to arrive... they should have been here a while ago. I am sure they are jusy delayed because of the rain and nothing else. Hugs, my Dearest Friend!

Mis hijas no tienen tanta suerte!

Ani... no seas tonta!!!

Y NO! Besos.

Wow, Annie!!!! What you said is so right! It IS my right to ask for it, as well as my daughters' right to get to spend time with their dad (as well as his responsibility and obligation to do so). But I would NEVR make my girls go if they didn't want to... it would be awful to make them feel that I want to get them out of the way! Thanks for dropping by and specially for commenting, my sweet Annoushka!
