Dad is never around!/ Papá nunca está!

hmmm... tough, uh? This is what Sol, my eldest daughter, told me last night when I was tucking her into bed. And right after it came the desperate cries for her father, and the uncontrollable sobbing and the need for a lot of hugs and soothing.

How is it possible that a father can just take so much time away from his kids, as if they didn't need him? How is it possible for a parent to say he cannot live without his darling daughters, and then not turn up to visit them in months? Is it possible that being 160 km away from where they live might be too far away not to visit them often, let's say, every weekend? He has a car so he can drive it here and take less than two hours.

I cannot understand parents who stay away from their kids and say they cannot live without them. I cannot understand parents who say they cannot help out economically in their children's upbringing because they are thinking about their future... in the meantime, just one is left responsible for their present (with EVERYTHING that it involves). And these parents are always seen as the greatest in their children's eyes, they are the most fun to be with, they are such good company, never scold... still, they are never around either.

So, if I cannot understand all this, how am I supposed to explain it to my daughter?

And she is still not mature enough to speak up and say all this to her father... not yet, though soon...

hmmm... qué difícil, no?

Don know wat to say. I can feel how tough it is when you dont find somebody whom you want to be around you. It hurts when you see somebody enjoying those privilege and you are deprived of it bcos of somebody else of bcos of fate. Eventually time heals everything and you move on with life and all that remains is agony/memories. If at all there is anything interesting in life than its life. No matter wat its still beautiful and hopes is wat the world is dependent on. The way you have put down your feelings shows how much one can feel or feels for somebody. Will pray for little angel and you sweetheart. TC

Hi Dearest Jeannie :)
I don't know what to say... I feel so sad for you and your Daughters, they must be feeling so confused.

I have a Cousin whose Father abandoned her at a very young age and I remember it being very, very difficult for her to come to terms with this in her life, even now (she is now 36 years old)
Her Father also didn't provide any financial help and never visited her either, he just lived his new life with his new Girlfriend and erased everything from his old life with my Aunt and My Cousin.
Now she is older she hates him, even though her Mother tried very hard not to talk bad about him in front of her, but she has seen him now with "adult eyes".
She got married and didn't even contact him to "give her away" as she said he has never been a Father to her, so my Uncle gave her away instead, good for her!

Isn't there any way you can force him to take some responsibility?! at the very least financially, as it must be extremely difficult being a "single parent" without any help whatsoever.
I can imagine that you wouldn't even want his help with caring for your Daughters, as you do such a great job of that already, but at least some help with their needs: both financial and emotional.

I don't know but I feel you need to put your foot down, maybe threaten him with some legal action, to make him pay his way and recognise that he has 2 Daughters as well! They need his help at least until they are 18 years old.

All the very best for you my Dearest Friend, I am always here to lend you my ear and my shoulder for support whenever you need!

Muchos Besos for you and your 2 Beauties!!!! :)

Hola!!!!

Jessy, Thank you sooo much for dropping by and taking the time to read what I have to say!!! The only one I feel pain and anguish for is Sol... my daughters are absolutely th eonly people on earth I would give my life for!!!

Dearest Donnie!!!! My true friend, always by my side!!! =)
The problem here is not that their father has disappeared from their life, which eventually turn out to be so much better for them. It is confusing for them to hear him say how much they mean to him, that they are the reason for his existence, and then he doesn't turn up to see them!!!! And as regards finacial aid from him... whatever evil one does eventually boomerangs back, just as with good deeds... so, time will tell, my dearest!!!
